Manufacturing guidelines

We recommend that before making these face shields you contact your local hospital to find out what they require, and you must get regulatory approval from the BSI before supplying these. If you are having difficulties organising regulatory approval, or don’t know where to start, please get in touch with us and we will do what we can to help.

To make these face shields you will need:

  • A3 size acetate, ideally 240 microns thick (1 sheet for each shield)
  • Foam pads, 30-40 mm thickness, medium to soft (need ~260 mm by ~50 mm for each shield)
  • Elastic ribbon, approximately 20 mm wide (330 mm for each shield)
  • Staples
  • Glue gun and glue sticks

Once manufactured, please make sure you leave them sealed in a bag for a minimum of 3 days to reduce cross-contamination risk. Here is our instructional video:
